The real estate industry can be a richly rewarding career, but a sale or listing is not worth taking unnecessary risks. A 2006 National Board of Realtors survey reported 54 percent of all respondents had experienced safety concerns, incidents, or harassing situations on the job. Every year an average of 126 violent acts are committed against real estate agents including rape, assault and robbery.

As a former real estate agent and now as a real estate safety trainer, I know how dangerous the job can be. Most, if not all crimes perpetrated against agents, could have been prevented.
